Head to the "Puppet Prom" this Saturday evening from 6-11pm.

This Saturday, February 9, Louisville's own local puppeteering group, Squallis Puppeteers, will be hosting their 10th annual fundraiser. The “Puppet Prom” is scheduled for 6pm-11pm. Squallis has put together a family friendly show for the evening including a live puppet dance party, appearances by the beloved large puppets that make Squallis who they are, interactive activities with their puppets, a silent art auction featuring locally crafted art pieces, and many other “love and kisses” themes to go along with the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Along with the puppet show, the night will include musical entertainment by DJ Matt Anthony and live music from a local band, Lady Pyramid. There will be free snacks and treats, dining available from Lil’ Cheezers food truck, a finger puppet making station, and a “kissing puppet” booth.

Come out and support a Louisville local and join in the fun! Ticket prices for adults are a suggested donation of $25 with a $10 minimum; children 12 and under are $10; children 2 and under are free. This fundraiser is one of the group’s major events to raise money for their organization and mission. The Squallis Puppeteers exists to “use the art of puppetry to free imaginations, create fantastic characters, and tell the stories that are important to our communities.”

The fundraiser and performance will be held in the School of Sharks Theater, at 770 Eastern Parkway. It is sponsored by Brown Forman, The Kentucky Arts Council, Louisville Metro Government, and many other area businesses and individuals who value the Squallis Puppeteers’ work.
